TRAVINA at Tianjin, China, 25–28 Oct 2026: what we bring and how to book a meeting

18/10/2026

TRAVINA will be in Tianjin, China, from 25 to 28 October 2026, at the stand of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance during the 2026 China (Tianjin) International Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Exhibition. Our founder Do Huu Thuan (杜友顺) is bringing three teas from our cooperative in Thai Nguyen, northern Vietnam: Hanoi West Lake Hundred-Petal Lotus Anther-Scented Tea, Single-Bud Royal Tribute Tea (Đinh Tiến Vua) and our bud tea. This page explains what we bring, who should come and talk to us, and how to book a meeting in advance.

Where and when

The exhibition is organised in Tianjin by Wanzhan (Beijing) International Exhibition Co., Ltd. According to the organiser’s invitation, it covers about 230,000 m² and around 2,600 exhibitors, most of them in agricultural machinery. Vietnamese cooperatives exhibit together at the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance stand, and TRAVINA’s teas will be displayed and offered for tasting there.

Hanoi West Lake lotus tea brewed in a zisha teapot, one of the teas TRAVINA brings to Tianjin
Our lotus tea brewed in a small zisha pot: the scent comes from lotus anthers, not from added flavouring.

The three teas we are bringing to Tianjin

1. Hanoi West Lake Hundred-Petal Lotus Anther-Scented Tea

This is the tea most Chinese visitors ask about first. The base is Thai Nguyen single-bud green tea. It is scented with the anthers (the fine “rice” inside the flower) of the Hundred-Petal lotus from West Lake in Hanoi. After scenting, the anthers are sifted out, so the packet contains only tea. We call it “Hanoi” West Lake on purpose, so it is not confused with West Lake in Hangzhou. Brew at 75–80°C for 30–40 seconds; the lotus aroma is clearest in the second infusion. Shelf life is 12 months. See the product page.

2. Single-Bud Royal Tribute Tea (Đinh Tiến Vua)

Made only from the closed bud at the very top of the tea shoot, hand-picked early in the morning. It takes more than 10 kg of fresh leaf to make 1 kg of this tea, and our cooperative can make only five or six needle-tea harvests a year. The name “Royal Tribute” is a trade name recalling how fine tea was once offered as tribute; it does not claim a court origin. More in our Tien Vua needle tea guide and on the product page.

3. Bud tea (one bud, one leaf)

Our everyday premium green tea: one bud and one young leaf, pan-fired and rolled in the northern Vietnamese style. For buyers who know Chinese green teas, this is the easiest way to taste the difference of Thai Nguyen terroir. See Superior Bud Tea, and our comparison of Vietnamese and Chinese green tea.

Single-bud tea: only the closed tip of the shoot, so each kilogram needs more than 10 kg of fresh leaf.

Who should come and talk to us

  • Tea shops and tea houses in northern China looking for a Vietnamese lotus tea or a single-bud green tea with a clear origin.
  • Gift and corporate buyers who want a Vietnamese tea gift with a story they can explain.
  • Importers and distributors who already handle tea imports into China and want to discuss a long-term supply.
  • Visitors from the agricultural sector curious about how a Vietnamese tea cooperative works: 90 member households, 40.5 hectares of tea gardens in Dai Tu – La Bang, Thai Nguyen.

What to expect at the stand

We will brew all three teas for tasting and show the dry leaf, so you can compare cup and leaf side by side. Our founder can explain how each tea is picked and processed, and how our cooperative works with farming households. If you would like a longer conversation, please book a time in advance so we can prepare samples for your business.

For trade enquiries we quote EXW (ex-works) in US dollars as a first step, based on quantity. Labelled TRAVINA products and unbranded (OEM) tea are quoted separately on request. We do not publish prices on this website.

Importing into mainland China: what we tell buyers honestly

Formal import of tea into mainland China requires the overseas producer to be registered with China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC) and the product to carry a full Chinese label with a named importer or distributor in China. TRAVINA is preparing for this but does not yet have a registered importer in China, and we will not pretend otherwise. At the fair, our aim is to meet partners who already have import experience and to plan the right route together. Our guide to importing Vietnamese tea under GACC Decree 280 explains the steps.

Why come back to Vietnam afterwards

Right after Tianjin, Thai Nguyen hosts its International Tea Festival from 30 October to 7 November 2026, and our cooperative takes part with La Bang commune. Buyers who want to see the gardens and the processing line can visit us then; see our page on the Thai Nguyen International Tea Festival 2026 and our tea tours. You can also read about our growing area in Dai Tu – La Bang.

Frequently asked questions

Can we buy tea at the stand?

We bring a limited quantity of the three teas for display, tasting and sale at the stand. For larger orders, we take your details and send samples and an EXW quotation after the fair.

Do you speak Chinese?

Our founder speaks Vietnamese; we prepare Chinese and English support for tastings and meetings. Written questions in Chinese are welcome through our contact page.

No. It is scented with real lotus anthers from West Lake in Hanoi, which are sifted out afterwards.

Is your tea organic?

No, we do not hold an organic certification. Our garden area in La Bang is VietGAP certified, and our La Bang processing facility is certified to ISO 22000:2018.

Where can we see your documents?

Our certificates and licences are listed on our certificates page; we can send lot-specific test reports on request.

Book a meeting in Tianjin: write to us through the contact page with your company name, city and the teas you want to taste. We will reply as soon as we can before the fair.
