FOUNDER

Mr Do Huu Thuan
Founder & Chairman
Ms Nguyen Thi Thu Thao
Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer
I have always wanted not only to build a Vietnamese tea brand that can reach international markets but also to build an ecosystem that is tea cooperative sustainable, with safe, 6 Không production.
Thu Thao runs the cooperative day to day: production planning, quality checks before a lot is released, and every order that goes out of the workshop.

The people behind TRAVINA
A cooperative is only as strong as the people running it. These are the people you deal with when you write to us, and the people whose names sit behind every lot that leaves the workshop in Dai Tu.

TRAVINA at a glance

- 90 member households farming 40.5 hectares across two sites, Dai Tu and La Bang
- About 120 tonnes of dry tea a year, produced in batches of roughly 10 tonnes a month
- 10 to 15 people on the processing floor, working to a written procedure at every stage
- 62% of the growing households are from ethnic minority communities
- A family trade in tea that goes back to 1960
What we can show you on paper
Every claim on this site is backed by a document you can look at. The certificates are published in full on our home page: VietGAP for fresh tea bud, ISO 22000:2018 for the food safety management system, the district food safety licence, an independent laboratory report, and our registered TRAVINA trademark. Awards from VATAP and VIPA are shown the same way, as scans rather than logos.
A registered cooperative, on paper
TRAVINA is the brand of Tam Tra Viet Cooperative, registered in Viet Nam under number 4601620037 on 5 July 2024. The registration is published below as issued; only the legal representative’s personal identity numbers are covered.

Judged by other tea makers
Thai Nguyen runs a provincial tea processing contest every December, where teams work fresh leaf side by side in front of judges. Our artisans competed for La Bang commune at the 2025 contest and took second prize. It is a small competition by world standards, but the people scoring it make tea for a living in the same province, which is the verdict we care about.

Shown at the national farmers’ congress
In June 2026 TRAVINA was among the producers invited to the exhibition of representative agricultural products held alongside the 9th National Congress of the Viet Nam Farmers’ Union, at the National Convention Center in Hanoi on 7 and 8 June, with 600 delegates from every province. Our full range was on the table, open for tasting.

Where to go next
See where the leaf is grown and how the factory is laid out, read how a clean tea is actually made, or browse the full range by grade. If you would rather see it in person, we host visitors at the gardens and the tasting is free.
Two longer reads: what makes a Thai Nguyen green tea both clean and sweet, and the story of how the cooperative was built.
Questions buyers ask us most
These are the real questions we receive by email. If yours is not here, write to us and we will answer it plainly.
Do you do private label and OEM?
Yes. Most of our export enquiries start this way. You can choose from teas we already produce and we pack them under your brand. We can also work from our existing stock packaging — pouches, tins and pyramid sachet boxes — so you do not have to commit to expensive custom packaging for a first market test.
What is your minimum order quantity?
We do not publish a fixed MOQ. It depends on the grade, the packaging format and whether the item is already in stock. Small first orders for market testing are normal and we would rather start small and grow with you. Tell us the SKUs and the quantity you have in mind and we will tell you honestly whether it is workable.
Can I get samples before ordering?
Yes. We send samples before any serious order. For a private label project we usually send the shortlisted teas together so you can taste them side by side rather than one at a time.
Do you publish a price list on the website?
No, and we should explain why rather than leave you guessing. Prices depend on grade, harvest, packaging and quantity, and a single public number would be wrong for most buyers. Send us your SKU list and target volumes and you will get a written quotation.
What certifications do you hold?
VietGAP for fresh tea buds (certificate DVCL-VG-TT-24-19-68), ISO 22000:2018 food safety management (GOODVN91025.FSMS), a food safety certificate issued by the district authority, and the right to use the collective mark “Chè Thái Nguyên”. Pesticide residue testing is done at an ILAC-accredited laboratory, and we can send the report for the specific lot you are buying.
One thing we say clearly: our “6 Không” standard — no chemicals, no pesticides, no chemical fertiliser, no colouring, no bleaching, no preservatives — is our production commitment, not an organic certification. We do not claim to be certified organic.
How long is production lead time?
For teas already in stock in our own packaging, days. For private label with your own labels and sleeves, plan on several weeks from artwork approval, because printing and label application sit outside our factory. Seasonality matters too: our harvest runs March to October and we do not process in the winter months, so a large order placed in January will be produced from stock, not from fresh leaf.
Do you export to my country, and how do you ship?
We export. Documents for formal export — phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin, HS codes — are prepared per shipment once an order is confirmed, because requirements differ by destination. Tell us the destination port or city and we will come back with the shipping options that make sense for your volume.
What are your payment terms?
Agreed per order and written into the quotation. For a first order we keep it simple and we are used to buyers who want to start cautiously.
Where does your tea actually come from?
From our own growing area in Đại Từ and La Bằng, Thái Nguyên province, at roughly 300–500 metres above sea level, farmed by 90 households across 40.5 hectares, of which 17 households and 9.7 hectares are VietGAP certified. We do not buy anonymous tea on the open market and resell it. If a product in our range comes from a partner cooperative in another province, we say so on that product page.
Can we visit before we commit?
Yes, and we would prefer it. We host buyers at the gardens and the factory, and the tasting is free. Seeing the withering room and the pans answers more questions than any document we could send you.
