An Khang Needle Tea Gift Box
An Khang means peace and good health. A needle grade tea in a gift box, the wish written on the lid rather than in a card.
The An Khang gift box is filled with Ngoc Needle Tea (Tra Dinh Ngoc), TRAVINA’s bud grade: single unopened buds, picked by hand at first light in the cooperative gardens at La Bang, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen, northern Vietnam.
What the leaf looks like. Dry, the buds are short, tight and needle-straight, with the blue-black sheen Thai Nguyen growers look for. Brewed, the liquor pours clear and pale green-gold, with a young-rice note on the nose and the sweet returning aftertaste that the province is known for.
Serving suggestion. About 4–5 g of leaf to 200 ml of water at 80–85 °C. Rinse briefly, then infuse 30–40 seconds for the first cup and add a few seconds to each cup after. Water much hotter than that scalds a bud tea and turns the sweetness bitter.
As a gift. An Khang means peace and good health, and the wish is printed on the lid, so the box arrives already saying what a card would. It is a common choice in Vietnam for Tet, for house-warmings and for gifts to elders. Exact contents and net weights for this presentation are confirmed on order, because the cooperative builds its gift ranges to the season — tell us the occasion and the quantity and we will quote the make-up.
How the tea is grown. The buds come from the same VietGAP blocks as the loose-leaf grade, and part of the cooperative area is farmed to our Six No clean-tea commitment — a production commitment of our own, not an organic certification, and we do not present it as one. The cooperative holds VietGAP DVCL-VG-TT-24-19-68, ISO 22000:2018 for the La Bang facility (GOODVN91025.FSMS) and food safety licence 14/2025/UBND-NNMT-TNg; scans are on the certificates page.
TRAVINA is the export brand of Tam Tra Viet Cooperative. Ninety member households farm 40.5 hectares across Dai Tu and La Bang; every leaf is picked by hand and every batch is processed at the cooperative’s own facility. The rest of the range is in the tea shop.

- Warm the pot and cups with boiling water, then pour it away.
- Use 10 g of leaf for one standard pot. About 6 g gives a lighter cup, 12 to 15 g a strong one. One kilogram makes roughly 100 pots.
- Wake the leaf: cover with hot water, swirl for five seconds and pour it away.
- First infusion: water at about 80 to 85 C. Let boiled water stand two minutes. Steep 20 to 25 seconds.
- Add 10 to 15 seconds for each further infusion. Good leaf gives three to four.
